The Hong Kong Epidemiological Association is a formed society and its inauguration ceremony has been held on 10 April 1997 at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong.

The objectives of the Association are :

1. To increase the understanding of the health professional on the role of epidemiology in the improvement of health.

2. To promote and encourage co-operation among organisations and individuals interested in epidemiology.

3. To promote improvement and encourage the training to the highest possible level of persons in all or any of the fields of epidemiology.

4. To promote and extend the interests and influence of all or any organisations concerned with the promotion of epidemiology; and to speak as required on any subject related to epidemiology.

5. To promote epidemiological research by all possible means.

6. To do all such other things as may seem to the Association incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.

7. To accept and raise money for the purpose of the Association and for that purpose to conduct such appeals on such conditions in such manner as it may consider fit.

8. To adopt such means of making known the activities of the Association and whether by publicity and/or educational activities with its objects as the Association may think fit.
