Deborah Stroman founded CSBA on the UNC campus in October 2016 as an effort to instruct and counsel her students on the positive and innovative activities in the multibillion-dollar sport industry. The Center of Sport Business and Analytics officially relaunched on February 26, 2020.

Deborah Stroman has served as the Director of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Center of Sport Business since its opening in 2016. Kenan-Flagler announced this past summer that the Center of Sports Business will close by December, also terminating her position at the business school.
