Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year Award is presented to a local professional under the age of 40, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in their industry and whose achievements have promoted young professional engagement through leadership in the community pertaining to economic development and civic involvement.

- Daily Tar Heel - Dawna Jones elected as NAACP CH-C president
Dawna Jones, current secretary of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP, was elected as the next president of the branch after the group held its election Nov. 7.
“For the first time, we’re going to be bringing on some student interns to help us do this work,” Jones said. “We hope to inform how students see themselves as part of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community and not just the UNC community.”
