Walter Isaacs

Walter Lee Isaacs (December 24, 1940 ~ October 18, 2022) was a founder and the first secretary (1971) of the Black Student Caucus, later rebranded the Minority Student Caucus. He received his Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree in 1974 from Department of Health Administration (then Health Policy and Administration, then Health Policy and Management) in the UNC School of Public Health (now the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health).

Walter Isaacs 2021 Telephone conversation with Anita Holmes (75 min)
In developing a presentation on the early history of the UNC Gillings School of Global Health Minority Student Caucus, Anita Holmes and Vic Schoenbach had an extended telephone call with Walter Isaacs, a founding member of the Caucus and its first secretary. The call on January 27, 2021 began as a Zoom meeting but because of technical challenges it transitioned to a cellphone call that Vic recorded.
