Judith Baynard Bradford, M.A., Ph.D.Judith Bradford, M.A., Ph.D. is Director of the Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory in the Center for Public Policy, Virginia Commonwealth University. She joined SERL in 1985 and has directed it since 1994. Dr. Bradford is Collateral Associate Professor in the School of Government and Public Affairs, and Affiliate Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine and Community Health in the School of Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University. She joined the Preventive Medicine and Community Health faculty in 1993 and is currently a member of the Core Faculty and Chair of the Health Policy Concentration in the Ph.D. Program in Public Policy and Administration, School of Government and Public Affairs. Dr. Bradford directs an extensive program of community research on HIV/AIDS, sexual minority health, and maternal child health. From 1999-2001 Dr. Bradford was Consulting Research Scientist and worked with faculty at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health to initiate the Center for LGBT Health. In June 2001, she became Senior Research Scientist and Co-Director of the Fenway Institute, Fenway Community Health in Boston, MA. Dr. Bradford is a founding member of the National Coalition for LGBT Health. She served as a panel member for the Institute of Medicine’s study on Lesbian Health Current Assessment and Directions for the Future and was a member of the editorial group for the Healthy People 2010 Companion Document on LGBT Health. As a board member of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, she has served as Editor of the Journal of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association since 2000. Dr. Bradford is a member of the Steering Committee of the National LGBT Tobacco Action Plan. She also serves on numerous editorial boards; has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and research reports; and has made over 100 professional presentations.
