Up one levelSteve's wife posted on the Caring Bridge website that Steve passed peacefully and painlessly, surrounded by his wife and four daughters, the afternoon of August 5, 2020. There will be no funeral service at this time.
She thanked the many friends who have visited, called and helped this year.
Anyone who would like to contribute in Steve's memory is invited to make a donation to a fund that Steve and she have set up to support public health and health care training efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Donations to the "Global Health and Infectious Disease Fund for Excellence (345939)" may be made online or by check payable to the UNC Health Foundation, with "Memorial gift in honor of Dr. Steven R. Meshick" on the memo line, and mailed to the UNC Health Foundation, 123 W. Franklin St., Suite 510, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
