A compilation of three articles in which Drs. Kaluzny and O'Brien document the evolution of cancer control and the underlying
roles of policy and management in improving cancer care. The authors trace the history of the expanding role of cancer control within the NCI and its efforts to improve clinical practice within a community setting. The three articles are:

Interview conducted December 2, 2008; transcript posted April 2009. This interview covers Dr. Kaluzny’s contributions to the evolution of the Division of Cancer Prevention. He touches on his participation in study sections, as well as transition periods and policy decisions within the National Cancer Institute and the Division of Cancer Prevention. In particular, Dr. Kaluzny discusses the split between the Division of Cancer Prevention and the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences in 1997.
