Jo Anne Earp's faculty papers, 1980-2014, including materials related to the North Carolina Breast Cancer Screening Project, a twelve year program to close the racial gap in breast cancer screening in rural counties; numerous questionnaires developed by Dr. Earp; and materials related to Dr. Earp's course on patient advocacy, the first and one of only of its kind.
- Jo Anne Earp Tribute Fund
In April 2013, Jo Anne Earp, ScD, former chair and longtime professor of health behavior at the Gillings School, drew more than 200 current and former students, colleagues and friends to events celebrating her 40-year career in public health. Earp’s career has included 1960s activism, educating and mentoring hundreds of students, researching and advocating for women’s health, civil rights, and improved health care quality, equity and access.

Dr. Earp chaired the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education (HBHE) at the time of Ethel Jean Jackson's retirement from the department's faculty. Dr. Earp created the committee that planned the celebration, approved the plans and provided funding, and in her tribute that evening announced a new award in Ethel Jean's honor, presenting it to then HBHE doctoral student Beth Moracco.
