  The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) deeply mourns the passing of Dr. Takey H. Crist, former Chairman of the American Hellenic Institute Public Affairs Committee (AHIPAC) and a devoted advocate for Cyprus and the preservation of its culture. Dr. Crist passed away on June 29, 2023, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. A private graveside service was held.

  Dr. Takey Crist, 85, of Jacksonville died on June 29th. He was born in Manhattan, New York of Greek Cypriot parents. Dr. Crist provided healthcare to women of Onslow County for over 50 years. He is survived by a sister, five children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A private graveside service was held.

  JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Dr. Takey Crist, a national defender of women's rights, an early pioneer of reproductive education for the public, and a nationally recognized patriot for Cyprus has been laid to rest. He passed June 29, 2023 after an extended illness. He was 85.

  JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - An eastern Carolina doctor described by his family as a national defender of women's rights and an early pioneer of reproductive education for the public, has been laid to rest. Dr. Takey Crist passed away on June 29th at the age of 85 following an extended illness. He was on the Obstetrics and Gynecology staff of UNC hospitals and was an associate professor with the School of Medicine before returning to Jacksonville to open the Crist Clinic for Women in the 1970′s.
