- Dr. Takey Crist: Physician honored by alma mater
Roselee Papandrea, GreekNews, May 14, 2007 Dr. Takey Crist recognizes that his work as a Jacksonville obstetrician/gynecologist and willingness to be in the forefront of women’s health issues was controversial but made a difference. He just never expected to be honored by his alma mater – the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – for his work. Crist was one of five people honored last week by the UNC School of Medicine and Medical Alumni Association, and one of three physicians who received the Distinguished Service Award this year.

- I Am One of the Faceless Women
Daily Kos, Oct. 22, 2016 I will preface this by telling you that this is extremely difficult to write. Difficult beyond words. But I feel compelled to share my story. Why? So that we make good and damned sure that we never allow ourselves to be overrun by “do good” “Christian” conservatives and any of their ilk who would be only too happy to take us back, back to the medical, spiritual and emotional Dark Ages. So that we make good and damned sure that women are never punished for having control over their own, very personal, bodies. No, you “power” hogs do not get to punish us. It is we who should punish you, you who think it is within your God given rights to determine how we pay for our “sins”. Screw you. I was a 19 year old nursing student during the era of Woodstock, young and dumb about contraception. Hard to believe, right? But true. And, yep, I got pregnant.

- The Donohue Show
Posted Aug. 18, 2010. Pat Richards recollection of a 1993 Phil Donahue Show Then there was Doctor Crist. He was a large, dashing bearded doctor of Greek descent who on that day was not going to take any crap from Paul Hill. He massacred him verbally, got more applause from the audience than anyone. After the show, over the course of the next few weeks, his clinic received hundreds of calls from women who wanted to meet Doctor Crist personally. He told me later that he received at least 50 proposals of marriage in the mail after his appearance. Ah, the power of television. [webpage retrieved from The Internet Archive, archive.org]
