Partner Conferences sharing the

11th Annual William T. Small, Jr. Keynote Lecture:

Our World, Our Community: Building Bridges for Health Equality

The following student organizations have organized their own events for February 27, 2009 in conjunction with the 30th Annual Minority Health Conference and will share the satellite / Internet broadcast of the Keynote Lecture.

  • Minority Students for the Advancement of Public Health (MSAPH) at the University of Illinois, Chicago are holding their first Annual Midwest Health Conference, “Minority Health in a Global Community: Midwestern Perspective on Health, Poverty, and the Environment.” The conference will share the Keynote broadcast by Dr. Wallace and have additional presentations (including submitted abstracts) and discussion.

  • The MultiCultural Student Organization (MCSO) of the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley will host a viewing of the Keynote by Dr. Wallace, followed by a discussion. The event will take place in Dwinelle Hall, Room 219, starting at 11:00am PST. The event is open to the UC Berkeley community.

  • Public Health Alliance for Minorities (PHAM) at the Boston University School of Public Health will also hold a conference in conjunction with the UNC conference, including the Keynote broadcast by Dr. Wallace.

  • Society of Young Black Public Health Professionals (SYBPHP) at Tulane University School of Public Health is organizing a group viewing of the Keynote broadcast by Dr. Wallace, followed by a panel and moderated discussion. Their event will be open to the Tulane campus and local New Orleans public health professionals. Starting time: 1:00pm CST. Location: Diboll Auditorium at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

  • Students of Color for Public Health (SCPH) at UCLA will be webcasting Dr. Barbara Wallace's keynote lecture for the 30th Annual Minority Health Conference. SCPH will host this lecture on "Our World, Our Community: Building Bridges for Health Equality" on Friday, February 27th at 11:00am-12:30pm (PST) in the UCLA School of Public Health, CHS Room 16-059. This event will be open to the UCLA campus and the general Los Angeles community. (View flyer)
