Public Health Alliance for Minorities of Boston University School of Public Health (PHAM)

 

PHAM is a collective of Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) students committed to increasing the awareness of minority issues by fostering relationships with faculty, alumni, and community health organizations and creating a social support and career network for BUSPH's underrepresented students and alumni.

Mission: The Public Health Association for Minorities, PHAM, is an association of Boston University Ethnic Minority Students and others interested in minority health issues that provides increased awareness of minority issues in the Greater Boston area. PHAM's activities include public health awareness and education, networking, training, and advocacy.

Purpose & Goals:

  1. Strengthen the social support and career network for Boston University School of Public Health students and alumni.

  2. Increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented ethnic minorities at Boston University School of Public Health.

  3. Provide opportunities for students in various departments to express public health issues of concern to populations of color.

  4. Increase the awareness of minority issues in the Greater Boston area through ongoing involvement with faculty, alumni, and community health organizations.
