Dr.
Schoenbach is
Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University
of North Carolina School of Public Health. He has led or co-led seven
NIH-sponsored behavioral epidemiologic studies, many with interventions
and most with minority populations. He has taught introductory epidemiology
for over 20 years and authored a web-published "Evolving
Text". He was the founding director of the UNC Minority Cancer
Control Research Program and has led the School's Minority
Health Project for several years, including the Annual Summer Public
Health Research Institute and Videoconference on Minority Health. In
ACE, he was founding chair of the American College of Epidemiology Committee
on Minority Affairs and co-authored the College's Statement of Principles
on Epidemiology and Minority Populations. He subsequently served on
the Board of Directors, chaired the Finance Committee and the Communications
Committee, and expanded the College's web site.
